Aceno is a spin out of the internationally renowned Telecommunications Software & Systems Group in Waterford Institute of Technology. Aceno provides a range of communication and Mobile Content distribution services.
The mobile content industry has evolved rapidly. However, it is widely accepted across the industry that mechanisms for retailing content result in poor customer coverage, choice and experience. Hence, the emergence of products such as Changing World's ClixSmart personalisation solution and newbay's FoneShare solution. These are clear attempts to bring the merchandising ability of expert eTailers like Amazon and BestBuy to the operator's portals.
Aceno has identified this market trend but has successfully executed a more direct solution - it has partnered with eTailers including Amazon and eBay to enable distribution of mobile content through their respective sites.
Aceno also provides student communication services to academic institutions. Aceno has integrated with SunGard’s SCT Banner student MIS system to enable SMS based communication with students.
